Wheelchair Basketball NT

Hey all, I've only been giving blood for a short time now but I reckon everyone that can should go and do it!! I've wanted to for a while but I always thought I never had time, little did I know that the blood bank opens till late most days, you've just got to book in. It hardly hurts (I never even cried ha-ha), you get satisfaction knowing you've saved a few lives and they make you a tea,coffee or juice and you can sit in the aircon, watch telly and have a few bickies and chocolate when you're done. Does anyone else on here do it?

Spot on Matty. I've been doing it for quite a few years. Anybody who drives a car, rides a bike or crosses the road on foot should give blood, because one day you just might need it back.

Here's an idea - if we could half a dozen or so wheely players to be willing to donate we could make a paryt booking and perhaps even get the NT News or some other media to turn up and get wheelybball some publicity.

I was there a month or two ago and a dozen or so police recruits were bleeding for their country. The News photographer recorded the event and they got their photo in the paper.

I'm in Vin, I usually book another visit when I'm there and I'm due back there on the 7th of June but if we get a few together I'm pretty flexible (as long as it's after 5pm) Who's in??

Well we have three from Lates Calcarifer who have put their hand up. I'm heading West at the end of this week but I'll get things organised once I get back. If anyone else is keen just contact me by early June.

I'm booked in for 8 June, so I'll call and see if I can do it one day early to match your date. Or we can leve it for a week or two after that..

Calling all vampires!!

I've checked with Red Cross ands the next date they have for a 5.00pm group booking is Monday 28 June.

This is in the school holidays. I'll be away and so will Luke, but that doesn't really matter.

I've tentatively booked for up to 8 people between 5.00 and 5.45 (finishing a bit after 6.00pm.)

WE can have more if some start a bit earlier, say 4.30/4.45)

I'll ask you all tomorrow night, and confirm or cancel depending on result. Minimum about 6 I think will be needed.

Well we got a few to give blood, myself, my wife Kylie, Jess, David from Wheelybads and Andrea from Lates Calcarifer showed up on Monday. Quite a few lives saved so well done those who attended. Twelve weeks from Monday we'll be there again so if any-one is interested give the blood bank a call.

Hi all, I don't know if anyone's going to read this today but we'll be back down giving blood today at 5.45pm at the Casuarina blood bank. I'm pretty sure Jess will be there and Dave from Wheelybads so if you want to make a party of it, book in for around then and we'll have bickies and a cuppa together
